Why don’t you buy it when you visit to Japan?

Japanese cling wrap is really popular in foreign countries.
Why? 
Because Japanese cling wrap is very easy to use, and you can preserve foods in a good preservation!!


It’s easy to open and cut!!
There is a sharp edge-tool.
And also it’s easy to stick!


In addition, the cling wrap is really strong.
You can also use it when you warm up food in the microwave.
It’s hardly broken.


There are some kinds of cling wrap in Japan, but “Saran Wrap” (trade name) is the most famous cling wrap in Japan.

So Japanese Cling Wrap is very popular as a souvenir.

Many Many Bicycles in Japan !!

Hey guys (*゚▽゚*) KONNICHIWA!!

Do you like to ride a bicycle??
Maybe you like to ride a car more than bicycle.
But, here in Japan, you can see many many people riding bicycles everywhere!!

Ranking of bicycles-held percentage(2011)
① the Netherlands
② Sweden
③ Finland
Japan


Japanese people have 1.3 bicycles per one family.
In addition, they use it 11.2 days per a month. (average)


Use for what (Top two)
50.5% - Shopping
20.5% - Commute (til Station)


So, there are many parking lot of bicycles.

"Origami" ―Japanese traditional Art

Hello !! KONNICHIWA (^O^)
Today, I introduce about "Origami"

◆ About Origami ◆
Origami is a traditional Japanese art.
It is a kind of recreation for both adults and children.

Origami is the skill of folding paper into various shapes.It doesn't use scissors or paste.

In Origami, usually squares of colored paper are used.

ツルの折り紙

A folded crane is the most common shape.
Most Japanese people can make it.

◆ Senba zuru ◆


A string of one thousand cranes is called "senba zuru".

In Japan it is customary to give a  string of 1,000 cranes to sick people to wish for a speedy recovery.

They say that crane lives a thousand years.

Tokyo Skytree !!


Merry Merry Christmas (^o^)

We celebrate Christmas in Japan, too.
But to most Japanese, Christmas doesn't have any religious meaning.
Anyway, among couples, dating is popular on Christmas day.

One of the most popular dating spot is Tokyo Skytree.
The Tokyo Skytree is a broadcast tower for television and radio. 
It's 634 meters tall.(2080feets)
It's the tallest tower in the world, and the second tallest structure in the world .

With the two observation decks at 350 meters and 450 meters, Tokyo Skytree lets you enjoy the landscape of Tokyo .



At the foot of the Skytree there's "Tokyo Skytree Town," a shopping and entertainment complex that has an aquarium and a planetarium as well as many stores and restaurants.
You can buy a lot of souvenirs.

Pocket size warmer, "Kairo"

Merry Christmas(*^o^*)メリークリスマス
Today, I introduce pocket-size warmer, Kairo !!

In Japan, It's colder and colder nowadays.
In winter, we often use Kairo.
Kairo is disposable pocket-size warmer.
Kairo is a packed iron-powder product.
The iron-powder is reacted to the oxygen, the product will get warm.


There are many kinds of Kairo, for hands, body, legs, and foots.

The temperature is over 40℃ !! 
(104 degrees Fahrenheit)


Kairo is simple, low price, and easy to carry so that is very convenient (^o^)
(It's only 10~50yen)

For foreigner, Kairo is surprising product maybe.

"Onigiri" is Japanese rice ball !!



Hello !! KO N NI CHI WA (^o^)

Today, I introduce Japanese rice ball, "Onigiri" !!

◆ How to make Onigiri ◆
Onigiri is made by rolling rice in the palms of your hands.
We put such things as pickled plums, broiled salted salmon, cod roe, shaved bonito in the middle and wrap them with seaweed.

◆ Another way to eat Onigiri ◆
We cover the surface of rice balls with soy sauce and toast them to a golden blown.
This is a popular food called "yaki Onigiri"

◆ Onigiri which is sold in shop ◆
Onigiri is sold every convenience store n Japan.
It is sold more than 1.8 billion packs per a yrar !!!

Japanese Conveyor Belt Sushi (^o^)

Hello !! KO N NI CHI WA !!

Today, I introduce Japanese Food, Sushi (^o^)

Have you ever eaten Sushi ??
Sushi is a traditional Japanese Food.

◆Sushi is this kinds of dish◆

Sushi is a dish of cooked rice flavored with vinegar and sugar.

1. Make a small vinegared rice ball with theor hands.

2. From it into an oblong shape.

3. Put sliced raw fish or shrimp on top of the ball.

4. A bit of Wasabi, Japanese horseradish-paste, is added as a flavoring.

5. Serve with Soy-source.

Japanese Traditional Food, "NATTO"

Today, I introduce Japanese Traditional Food, "NATTO"!!!




Do you know it ??
NATTO is made of soy beans.
It is made from fermented soy beans and natto fungus.

As you know, NATTO has a distinct odor.
Because NATTO has a peculiar smell, many foreign people don't like it.

However, NATTO is really good for health.
It  is rich in nutrition.

It is very delicious for almost Japanese people and a few foreign people.

Japanese Hightech Vending machines !!

KO N NI CHI WA !!

Today, I introduce Japanese Hightech Vending machines !!!

I introduce 2 types of vending machines in Japan.


◆Cigarette Vending machine◆










We can buy cigarettes from vending machines.
However, when we buy cigarettes, we need special card that is called ‘taspo’.

According to Japanese LAW, Cigarettes are for over 20 year olds.
The ‘taspo’ initiative is implemented by the entire tabacco industry in order to prevent underage smoking.

‘taspo’ is as age verification IC card only issued upon strictly confirming that the holder is an adult, with the aim of preventing underaged consumers from purchasing cigarettes from vending machines. ‘taspo’ cards were introduced nationwide in July 2008.

There are Touch-Type vending machines in Japanese Train Stations.
It can analyze your conditions (like temperature), and recommend you to something to drinks !!

Japanese Craved name seal, "INKAN" "HANKO"

HELLO !! こんにちは!

Japan is sooo cold Today.
It's SNOW in Tokyo.

Today, I introduce Japanese craved name seal, "INKAN" or "HANKO".



One sticks the carved surface into a red ink pad, then presses it on paper.
It is usually made of wood but ivory and crystal are also used.



In Japan, we use INKAN when we sign the documents.
Family name is engraved to the INKAN.

How to use it correctly ??

You should put the INKAN to tilt to the left.
This can express modest heart of user. ↑↑↑



If you want to make INKAN in KANJI,
use a phonetic equivalent !! Like this↓↓↓

e.g.

English                 Kanji              Katakana

Michael       舞蹴    マイケル

Andrew       杏杜龍   アンドリュー

Emily     笑里     エミリー

Sophia    祖符衣亜   ソフィア
