New Year's Day custom in Japan ②

Hey guys!!
Have you spent a good day on a New Year's Day??
Did you send Christmas cards to someone?(^-^)
In Japan, Christmas card is not normal, however, Japanese people send New Year's card on New Year's Day!!


New Year’s card is a postcard or a greeting card sent as a New Year's greetingWriting New Year's cards is a Japanese custom.It is more than 100 years since!!

There are many kinds of New Year’s cards in Japan.

This year’s Eto (Chinese astrological calendar, 12 kinds of animals) is the Ram, so almost all of the New Year’s cards are printed or painted Ram illustration.


The reverse side of a card, write down address, etc. Write down a Zip-code on the top of the card, on the light side is the address, and in center is the name of the person you want to send it. Write down my name, address, and zip-code on the left side.

It has lottery!! If you are lucky, you can get money or something!!
