[1000yen]≒10$ Mt. Fuji, Lake Motosu, Cherry blossoms, Hideyo Noguchi are printed. He was a prominent Japanese bacteriologist.
[5000yen]≒50$
"Kakitsubata-zu" (Painting of Irises, a work by Ogata Kōrin) and Ichiyo Higuchi are printed. She was one of the first important writers to appear in the Meiji period.
[10000yen]≒100$
10000yen is the highest value money in Japan. Statue of hōō (phoenix) from Byōdō-in Temple and Yukichi Fukuzawa are printed. He was a Japanese author, Enlightenment writer, teacher, translator, entrepreneur and journalist who founded Keio University.
And, this is not normal, but we have 2000yen note!!

The 2000 yen note was first issued on July 19, 2000 to commemorate the 26th G8 summit in Okinawa and the 2000 millennium year as well.

❀New Year’s Day decorations❀
We use special decorations inside and outside houses. These are to show houses are sacred places.By decorating, we prevent misfortune in the house.
[KAGAMIMOCHI]
This is Kagamimoch.
Kagamimochi are round, flat, rice cakes form 10-20 centimeters in diameter stacked in two layers on a stand, and the orange is on the top.
At the New Year, we offer kagamimochi, decorationg the alcove, to the Buddhist gods.
On January 11th, we open the kagamimochi and eat it.
This is to get power from the year gods to live happily for one year.
[KADOMATSU]
We often use pine, bamboo, and plum for New Year decorations. These plants are considered to be lucky.
Because bamboo grows fast and is always green, it symbolizes “life force” and “long life.”We put it in front of the entrance of houses, buildings, and department stores. We take down the decorations on January 7th. [OTOSHIDAMA]
